Dear Customer, In the Spring edition of your HP OpenCall newsletter you will discover that HP OpenCall has picked up the pace on the road to IMS with its alliance with Tekelec. HP and Tekelec argue that in a dynamic environment where innovation around IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) is moving faster every day, a collaborative approach based on open, interoperable interfaces suits operators. Rich Tehrani, president and group editor of TMC asserts: "...it is good to see two major players in the service provider space coming together to make it easier for service providers to build next generation networks and applications. One benefit of this collaboration is faster time to market for service providers worldwide." The accelerated deployment of multimedia services is based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and including the HP OpenCall Home Subscriber Server (HSS), leading the industry as a mission-critical component for IMS/Multi-Media Domain (MMD) next-generation networks offering a smooth and cost effective transition. The HP OpenCall HSS is derived from the HP OpenCall Home Location Register providing flexible and unique mobile network mobility management on a general-purpose computing-based platform enabling HP to deliver a lower total cost of ownership. Read customer and partner press releases which speak of the flexibility of HP OpenCall's billing solution and HP OpenCall Media Platform. Visit the Resources section to learn more about HP OpenCall, in particular the HP OpenCall Experience Centers which offer live network environments providing momentum for the service providers' multi-stage journey towards IMS. Tekelec and HP accelerate deployment of open, IMS-based multimedia services
|
 |
Tekelec, a leading developer of high-performance network applications for next-generation fixed, mobile and packet networks, announced an agreement with HP to accelerate the deployment of multimedia services based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and including the HP OpenCall Home Subscriber Server (HSS). The joint solution enables service providers to address, through an open, integrated and tested multi-vendor IMS offering, the challenges resulting from decreasing sources of traditional revenue and rising infrastructure costs. The solution includes IMS core network infrastructure, service enablers, operational and business support system linkages and application service offerings that enable the delivery of subscriber-centric services spanning wireless, wireline and broadband networks. The HP OpenCall HSS is derived from the HP OpenCall Home Location Register, which provides mobility management for 35 service providers and more than 200 million subscribers. As a core building block in IMS networks, the HP OpenCall HSS acts as the master database for both 3G and IMS subscribers, providing service data, feature lists and subscriber information. Steve Dietch, director, HP OpenCall Worldwide Marketing, commented, "HP and Tekelec share a common vision and are committed to delivering solutions that enable service providers to address customer challenges. Working with Tekelec and HP, service providers can leverage their existing network resources and transition to a flexible next-generation infrastructure in a cost-effective manner. With this transition, service providers can accelerate time to market, enhance flexibility, and deliver personalized, content-rich services."
