HP BTO for Mobile releases QuickTest Professional for Mobile, version 9.2
|
 |
The HP Business Technology Optimization (BTO) for Mobile team has released the new version of QuickTest Professional (QTP) for Mobile, version 9.2, which is the first version to expand into multiple mobile device platforms covering Symbian OS (both Series 60 and UIQ), Windows Mobile (2003 phone edition and WM5) and BREW (Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless). The new release improves the product design to become a true extension of the industry leading automated testing tool, QuickTest Professional, which captures more than 60% of the IT automation testing tools market today, (source IDC, 2006). By controlling the mobile device from the QTP PC-based software, any application and mobile service can be tested using a real device with its actual network capability allowing easy creation of test scenarios, reusing test cases across devices, managing multiple devices from one script, performing repetitive and data centered tests, and therefore significantly shortening the whole test cycle. QTP for Mobile 9.2 leverages the strong integration into QTP with the use of keywords (e.g. PressKey, MakeCall, SendSMS etc.) and the ability to test Device-to-Web and Web-to-Device scenarios. It is fully integrated into Quality Center 9.2, the leading test management software from HP, allowing a single management environment for manual and automated testing. The new release further extends OpenCall's portfolio of solutions, leveraging the established HP leadership in ASQ tools and allowing accelerated time to market for innovative multimedia services, with a better control on quality and efficient deployment methodologies.
