Overview

HP OpenCall Media Platform (OCMP), one of the industry's most comprehensive and mature voice and video services platform, enables the rapid development and secure deployment of next-generation multimedia interactive services.

Vastly scalable and backed by HP's worldwide delivery, support and services organization, the HP OpenCall Media Platform integrates easily with existing network architectures, allowing service providers to rapidly capitalize on near-term business opportunities such as large-scale interactive voice response (IVR) applications, unified messaging, virtual call centers and entertainment services.

Additionally, the HP OpenCall Media Platform protects the value of service providers' investments thanks to its proven media resource function (MRF) and complete and efficient video capabilities. With this functionality, the OCMP fully supports IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)-based services and innovative multimedia value added services.

Key benefits

  • Support the creation and deployment of multiple services - The HP OpenCall Media Platform is available as a stand-alone media server for service providers and value added resellers (VAR) that want to create tailored services for Interactive Voice Response (IVR), call completion, messaging, contact centers, entertainment and multimedia conference solutions. It is also the enabling technology used by the HP CMS Rich communication solution suite which offers IVR consolidation, messaging, video portal and blog, Unified communications, and Enterprise communications solutions.

  • Protects investments and mitigate risk - The HP OpenCall Media Platform is ready for service provider network evolutions. It connects to wireline legacy networks or wireless 2G and 3G networks as a media server as well as to next-generation networks (NGN) as an IP media server. It also supports the IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) network as a media resource function (MRF). But, more importantly, OCMP may also be used by several of these networks simultaneously as a converged Media Server thus enabling a smooth and cost effective network transition. HP's world leading media competence and proven experience ensures a smooth deployment of large scale voice and video systems, relying on standard computing servers or carrier-grade platforms.

  • Lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and Reduce complexity - Service providers can dramatically lower total cost of ownership through the HP OpenCall Media Platform's innovative SoftDSP framework, industry-standard protocols such as VoiceXML and CCXML, and standard computing platforms. The HP OpenCall Media Platform enables always-on media services which scale from a few to millions of subscribers, matching the business growth needs while maintaining fast and smooth user interaction to ensure the best end-user experiences.

Key differentiators

  • Proven track record of 750,000 media ports deployed in over 50 countries within more than 150 service providers.

  • Product flexibility offers the choice of the application deployment model: a service node deployment model, or an Application Server/Media server decoupled model that uses a SIP AS delegation model (NetAnn/VoiceXML) or a protocol model (MSCML).
  • Reuse of existing IN infrastructure thanks to the connectivity to legacy Service Control Points (SCP) via the Special Resource Function (SRF) model and interface that is supported.
  • Graphical development environment based on eclipse for service creation (OpenCall Studio).
  • Integration with CMS products for content management and service execution.
  • Powerful Call Data Records (CDR) processing subsystem.
  • Scales from tens to tens-of-thousands of ports using an open, distributed architecture.
  • Leadership and commitment to standards delivers the peace of mind that comes with the long-term viability of platform and application investments.
