Overview

The HP OpenCall SIP Network Server (SNS) platform is an SIP network element offering multi-purpose SIP entities for service providers deploying pre-IMS and full IMS services.

It provides the service providers a smooth transition from a legacy signaling network to a pre-IMS network, or helps move directly to a full IMS network along with intelligent routing capabilities.

Based on the HP OpenCall Universal Signaling Platform it addresses the IMS 3GPP and the 2.5G markets, and supports all the main SIP network functions such as proxy, redirect and registrar.

Key Benefits

  • Beyond proxy, registrar and redirect functions, the HP OpenCall SNS provides advanced routing, load-sharing, load-balancing, and high availability to a pool of SIP application servers hosting the services on the network. These services are based on the HP OpenCall Media Platform for example.

  • Its versatile technology allows the deployment of an SIP registrar that can either interface an embedded subscriber database or an external one such as an LDAP database.

  • The HP OpenCall SNS modular architecture and provisioning fulfills any specific network requirements through a configuration tool or with ad-hoc dynamically uploaded modules (plug-ins).

Key features

The OpenCall SNS plays the role of SIP network entities such as:

  • Registrar server
  • Redirect server
  • Proxy server
  • Load-balancer
  • Any combination of above entities on the same platform

Its unique features ease network provisioning with intelligent routing function based on SIP message header parameters.
