Course description

The purpose of this extension module is to enable service application developers to design and implement Application Copy Fail over (ACF) mechanisms in HP OpenCall IN7 (OC IN7) service applications.

Course benefit

Upon course completion, participants will be able to describe the OC IN7 ACF API, design applications making the most of the ACF API, develop, build, test and integrate OC IN7 applications using the ACF facility.

  • Basic knowledge of IN and SS7 concepts
  • HP Tru64 UNIX knowledge

Course materials & methodology

Lectures are interspersed with hands-on exercises, with about two thirds of the course dedicated to practical sessions. These practical sessions include:

  • Use the OC IN7 ACF API routines to save transaction contexts
  • Retrieve ACF server indications when becoming a backup application
  • Build and run an OC IN7 application process using the ACF facility

Each participant will receive a print of the course slides as well as product documents.

Training schedule

HP offers this course on an "on-demand" basis. 3 to 4 weeks lead time is required for course preparation. Course contents can be adapted to customer requests.

Trainers profile

Training will be led by an HP consultant with a background in telecommunications, networks and expertise in HP OpenCall IN7, SS7 and SIGTRAN protocols.

Audience size

Classes are intended for a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 8.

Course location

This course is delivered in HP Sophia Antipolis, France. Sessions can also be organized in other HP facilities or on customer's premises (in which case the customer is responsible for the training logistics).
