Course description

The purpose of this course is to provide comprehensive knowledge of the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) User Part (ISUP) software running on top of the HP OpenCall IN7 Signaling Platform (OC IN7 ISUP), including platform configuration, management and development.

Course benefit

Upon course completion, participants will be able to quickly configure and operate HP OpenCall IN7 ISUP platforms, as well as design, develop, test and integrate their own ISUP applications.

Target audience

This course is designed for people responsible for integrating, testing and maintaining HP OpenCall IN7 ISUP platforms and who require a thorough understanding of the workings of the platform, such as, operation people, technical support specialists, service application developers, software architects and project managers.

Course prerequisites

Recommended:

  • Basic knowledge of IN, SS7 and SIGTRAN concepts
  • HP Tru64 UNIX knowledge
  • C programming knowledge

Lectures are interspersed with hands-on exercises, with about a third of the course dedicated to practical sessions. These practical sessions include:

  • Install and configure a platform
  • Start and stop the platform
  • ISUPMP management scripts
  • Call management with TICMP
  • Trace analyzer
  • Failover – Fail back, Automatic Blocking Instance

Each participant will receive a print of the course slides as well as product documents.

Training schedule

HP offers this course on an "on-demand" basis. 4 to 5 weeks lead time is required for course preparation. Course contents can be adapted to customer requests.

Trainers profile

Training will be led by an HP consultant with a background in telecommunications, networks and expertise in HP OpenCall IN7 ISUP and SS7 protocols.

Audience size

Classes are intended for a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 8.

Course location

This course is delivered in HP Sophia Antipolis, France. Sessions can also be organized in other HP facilities or on customer's premises (in which case the customer is responsible for the training logistics).
