Course description

The purpose of this course is to enable management application developers to design and develop management applications on the HP OpenCall IN7 Signaling Platform (OC IN7).

  • Basic knowledge of IN, SS7 and SIGTRAN concepts
  • Depending on the selected environment, HP Tru64 UNIX or OpenVMS knowledge

Course materials & methodology

Lectures are interspersed with hands-on exercises, with about two thirds of the course dedicated to practical sessions. These practical sessions include:

  • Use the OC IN7 management API routines to configure and monitor an OC IN7 platform
  • Get the directive responses and event reports from the management API
  • Build and run a management application process

Each participant will receive a print of the course slides as well as product documents.

Training schedule

HP offers this course on an "on-demand" basis. 3 to 4 weeks lead time is required for course preparation. Course contents can be adapted to customer requests.

Training will be led by an HP consultant with a background in telecommunications, networks and expertise in HP OpenCall IN7, SS7 and SIGTRAN protocols.

Classes are intended for a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 8.

Course location

This course is delivered in HP Sophia Antipolis, France. Sessions can also be organized in other HP facilities or on customer's premises (in which case the customer is responsible for the training logistics).
