Course benefit

Upon completing this course, participants will have mastered the main HP OpenCall SS7 stack application development guidelines and will have gained sufficient knowledge of platform administration to be able to develop and test their own applications.

Target audience

Software engineers and software architects who need to gain the skills to develop TCAP applications on the HP OpenCall SS7 stack.

Course prerequisites

Mandatory:

• Familiarity with intelligent network concepts
• General SS7 protocol knowledge
• Familiarity with development on HP-UX
• Familiarity with C/C++ programming language

Course materials & methodology

Lectures are interspersed with hands-on exercises, focusing on tutorials delivered with the HP OpenCall SS7 package:

• MTP/SCCP tutorials (MTP/SCCP message exchange between client and server)
• TCAP tutorial (dialog handling between client and server)
• OA&M tutorial (interactive tool to configure/monitor MTP/SCCP network entities)

Each participant will receive a print of the course slides.

Training schedule

HP offers this course on an "on-demand" basis. 4 to 6 weeks lead time is required for course preparation. Course contents can be adapted to customer requests.

Training will be led by an HP senior consultant with a background in intelligent networks and with expertise in developing applications on the HP OpenCall SS7 platform.

Audience size

Classes are intended for a minimum of 4 students and a maximum of 8.

Course location

This course is delivered in HP Grenoble, France or HP Cupertino (CA). Sessions can also be organized in other HP facilities or on customer's premises (in which case the customer is responsible for the training logistics).
